Having trouble connecting to one of the Hyperdrive (-lite, -wifi, -vnc)?#
Confirm your OS is supported. Hyperdrive supports the following OSes:
Linux - Recommended distribution: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS or greater.
MacOS – Mojave (10.14.6) or greater.
Confirm required UDP range of ports are unblocked:
9601 – 9699.
Confirm your key is valid & correctly copied:
Keys expire after 8 hours. A new key will not be generated while your old key is valid. When in doubt, check the date & time of your email – if it’s older than 8 hours, you probably need a new key!
All characters in the key are required. Be sure you’re highlighting the entire string when copying, as sometimes double-clicking will miss special characters!
Double-check that you’re correctly entering the commands to establish a remote connection, including all spaces and hyphens.
Hyperwifi command formats and examples can be found here.
Hypervnc command formats and examples can be found here.
Hyperdrive clients connect, but there are issues with display of the -VNC environment OR Airtime Portal on test devices?#
Confirm you’re using a supported device & browser combo:
Laptops:
OS: Windows 10, 11 | macOS 10.14.6 and up.
Browsers: Latest version of Chrome, Firefox & Safari.
Android 8.0 and up + current version of mobile Chrome.
iOS 13.0 and up + associated version of mobile Safari.
Hyperdrive clients connect, but the test device isn’t issued an IP OR is issued an IP starting with 169.254.x.x (aka: device self-issued IP range 169.254.0.1 through 169.254.255.254)?#
Good news – there’s nothing wrong with your Hyperdrive client. But this usually means the test environment/rig you want to reach is unavailable. Please reach out to your program lead/project manager for additional support.
Hyperdrive clients connect, but a test device cannot find the broadcast SSID?#
Confirm your device’s connection supports 5ghz radio for Hyperlite & 2.4ghz 802.11n for Hyperwifi.
Confirm that the email is not in your spam / junk mail folder. If it is, please add our email as a trusted source!
Confirm that your formatting of the email is correct by comparing to the user guide here. The to-field and subject line must be correct for the system to generate your key!
Confirm that you don’t have a prior key and/or the previous key you requested is more than 8 hours old. If you have a key that is still valid, a new key will not be issued. Keep in mind that keys are issued once every 8 hours.
